Additional rates for calls, SMS and access to the Internet will cease to function. This decision was approved by the Council of the European Union.
Thus, EU citizens traveling to Europe will have the same connection and the same Internet speed as if they were back home. They won’t have to connect to the local operator or save on calls due to expensive roaming.
In addition to 28 EU countries, this decision will affect Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. However, since European operators will sustain losses due of this improvement, they are likely to increase the cost of roaming for non-EU citizens.
In particular, it is known that the European colleagues of Russian operators have already announced that they will charge additional fees to compensate for their losses, therefore, as far as Russian citizens are concerned, roaming prices in the EU will increase.
